In the spring of 2026, Shenzhen Haitianlong Shipping Co., Ltd. reached a significant milestone in its fleet development. The two 20,000 DWT class coastal open-top container vessels – M/V “Haitianlong 77” and M/V “Haitianlong 88” – have been under steady construction since their keels were officially laid on January 26, 2026 at Junxian Shipbuilding & Repair Co., Ltd. in Shunde District, Foshan City. Both vessels are expected to be completed and delivered in June 2026.

The two new vessels are exquisitely designed by Guangzhou Jianlong Ship Design Co., Ltd., classed by China Classification Society (CCS), and their construction is fully supervised by the Foshan Maritime Safety Administration of the People’s Republic of China. Principal particulars are as follows: length overall 49.818m, moulded breadth 16.00m, moulded depth 6.00m, gross tonnage 1,567, equipped with twin main engines (373kW each), and designed for coastal container cargo transportation. Both vessels will be registered at the port of Shenzhen under the administration of Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration.
Adopting an open-top container ship design, “Haitianlong 77” and “Haitianlong 88” offer advantages such as high loading/unloading efficiency and strong cargo adaptability, which will significantly enhance the company’s capacity on the South China coastal and short-sea routes. The two vessels are being built simultaneously on No.1 and No.2 slipways, with close collaboration among the shipyard, classification society, maritime authority, and owner to ensure strict quality and schedule control.
Mr. Chen, General Manager of the company, stated: “Constructing two vessels in parallel is not only a strategic move for our deep cultivation of the shipping market, but also a firm declaration of our dream to sail into the blue ocean. Once these new vessels join our fleet, Haitianlong Shipping will continue to ride the wind and waves steadily forward with a stronger fleet and more professional services.”
From the new premises at Taizi Plaza to the shipbuilding site, Shenzhen Haitianlong Shipping Co., Ltd. is sailing toward an even broader horizon with rising momentum.
